Kevin Gidrey Reports To Washington Redskins Training Camp

Now that the Washington Redskin's Training Camp is underway its time for Kevin Gidrey to show the Redskin's Coaches what he's really made of.
The transition between College and the NFL is a great task in itself, but Kevin has already proven himself to be able to handle the transition. With the help of great veterans like Chris Cooley, Mike Sellers, and Santana Moss, Kevin's making a great presence around his fellow Redskin's teammates as he gains their respect.
Some of the biggest difficulties in the transition from College to the NFL for most Rookies would probably be the speed of the game, size of the playbook, and the strength and power of the players. Due to the preperation Kevin has put in though, he's been right up to speed with the other players. With help from the veterans, Gidreys been fitting in perfect with the Redskin's Offense.

Kevin Gidrey's Finest

Before I start, I would like to congratulate Kevin on a spectacular collegiate football career starting at ECU(East Carolina) and then following Coach Holtz to finish his senior year at USF(South Florida). With the full support of all Kevin's family and friends, he proved a bunch of people wrong and followed through with his plans to make it to the big leagues. The hard work and continuous effort could not go unnoticed and as the rest of us would say, WE ARE EXTREMELY PROUD OF YOU KEVIN! Keep up the hardwork as you better yourself, and soon we will hopefully see you playing Sunday and Monday nights representing Va hard in the big leagues.

So on to the bowl game! The Meineke Car Care Bowl was the first time these two teams(USF & Clemson) have ever gotten to play against each other. The game started quickly with the Bulls blowing away Clemson in the first half pulling away with a score of 17-13. In the first half , Kevin came away with a big first down reception which led to the touchdown before the end of the half.

Continuing in the second half, Clemson made a couple drives to that brought pressure onto the Bulls but once again they stood there ground and held off Clemson. The final score of the game ended with the USF Bulls ahead 31-26. With that win it boosted USF's seaon record to 8-5. Kevin ended the game with a total of 3 receptions for 34 yards averaging 11.3 yards per reception. His longest reception was 16 yards.

Kevin ended his college career with a total of 22 receptions for 222 yards and one touchdown. Once again, it can't be said enough, but we are so proud of our hometown boy Kevin and we only wish you the best in whatever the future brings! Keep ya head up, your a champion to everyone here in Virginia Beach. Kevin, you represented us to the max, so you only deserve that much respect back.
